"In 1999, during the Kargil War, I, too, was looking for recruitment into the Army. At that time, around 13-14 soldiers were martyred. It was then that the words of a father of one of the soldiers sowed the seeds of patriotism."
Jitendra Singh, a guard working in Surat, Gujrat, shows his gratitude towards the service of those martyrs that have protected our country. He has written over 4000 letters to the families of Kargil War martyrs among others.
"So what if I lost a son? The country is safe" - Arjun Ram Batswana, the father of the martyr.
Jitendra Singh is a man worthy of many words but nothing can better describe him than an altruistic patriot. He is a testament to the fact that great deeds do not beget greatness rather great intent.
