Rear Admiral Vineet Bakhshi, VSM, ex CO INS Shivaji
RAdm. Vineet Bakhshi VSM, is a former Commanding officer of INS Shivaji. He has served in the Indian Navy for 36 years in various capacities. His service on board was on the Indian Naval ships Delhi, Kirpan, Vikrant and Trishul. Ashore has worked in Naval Dockyards, Training Institute, Command Staff, Machinery Trials Unit, and in Logistics, Projects and Analysis and in Policy making organisations.
The retired flag officer is an alumnus of the Scindia School, the National Defence Academy, the Naval College of Engineering and IIT Delhi. He has headed the organisations which undertook trials of equipment and acceptance of ships, conducted defect analysis and defined maintenance policies, trained officers and men for the engineering branch and planned and executed marine infra-structure projects such as dry docks.
In 2010 he took over as the CMD of Goa Shipyard Ltd, a Defence PSU which designs and builds warships and equipment for the Indian Navy, vessels for the Indian Coast Guard and for State Marine Police forces as also for various customers including for export. Since 2014 he has been associated with school education. He is also Chairman of a listed NBFC.
