The wars on the planet Earth would seem minor conflicts, when one sees wars in the outer space. It is NO more science fiction or STAR WARS stuff. The cosmic age is around the corner. Efforts on to weaponise the outer space. Thus, the ongoing INVISIBLE PHASE of emerging form of the war in 21st century was only a glimpse of the shape of things to come.
Armed forces of the warring nations would have to become one single entity , fully integrated and amalgamated, devoid of tight compartmentalisation into separate wings.
I have No issues with Army, IAF or IN. I am of the view that time has come to demolish the walls between them and create a unified security force , beyond 'jointmanship'. This is the call of the 'weaponised space'. Therefore need is not of Coordination or synchronisation but a unified action under one Commander.
In other words, future military leaders would have to don the colours and skills of all three wings. How far in the future, one is looking into for such a scenario to emerge. I would say, a decade or a decade and a half.
We have to take initial steps . 'Forward planning' must become our defence analysts 'military culture'. Let us not pick up weapons from the 'Arms Shelves' of the world and fit them into our war machine but dictate our needs and accordingly orientate.
It is in this context I support Theaterisation though not in its current shape of implementation but as a step towards final integration. I do consider that Theaterisation is a first step towards a long journey towards final amalgamation.
It is end of a 'beginning' and not beginning of an 'end'. However clumsy the first step, Theaterisation is the door which opens scope for ultimate integration of unified security forces incorporating all aspects of 'Kinetic' and 'non - kinetic' means to deal with threats from 'Contaminated Ocean and Weaponised Space' (COWS).
I know it might sound philosophical and fiction but to dismiss it is to close our eyes on the future beckoning to us.
