Srinagar, 19 July 2021: As a prelude to Kargil Vijay Diwas-2021, a drawing competition was organised at Army Goodwill School, Farona on 19 July 2021 by Forever in Operations Division under the aegis of Fire and Fury Corps. “The event marks the bravery and sacrifices of our valiant soldiers, who fought intruders from across the line of control and ensured the territorial integrity of our nation,” said a defence spokesperson.

Amidst COVID protocols, a total of 96 children aged between five to 14 years from 15 villages of Suru Valley participated in the drawing competition. “The event was very well received by the children who enjoyed the opportunity to interact with their peers, since schools are closed due to the pandemic,” said the official.

“They displayed enthusiasm and creativity in presenting their ideas through the medium of art. The event highlighted the commitment of Indian Army to engage with the young generation of this region and foster the spirit of nationalism,” the spokesperson concluded.
