
Commander Ravindra Waman Pathak
Cdr. Ravindra Waman Pathak has been instrumental in retrieving Defense Land from Mrs Pratibha Patil, was a active member of IESM in veterans fight for OROP, is an authority on Pension related issues, is actively involved with ECHS work being on the advisory body of Khadki ECHS and has been recognized for his social work by being nominated as a Pune Hero in Indian Express.
He was also awarded the Prerana Pursakar by Maharashtra Seva Sangh, Mulund. Since 2010 he has been fighting corruption in the Department of Sainik Welfare, Maharashtra and is keen on resolving Veterans issues with the department.
He was born at Jabalpur on 08 May 1949 and after having done his schooling at various places in Maharashtra joined the National Defence Academy (NDA) in 1967 whilst studying at Sainik School Satara. He graduated from NDA and joined the Indian Navy and after a career spanning 20 plus years in the Navy left to join the civil street. He had two stints as General Manager at J M Baxi and Co and at SECO at Mombasa before joining the Merchant Navy in 1991.
He was at sea as a Master and stopped sailing in 2005 and took to teaching at Merchant Navy Colleges and did that till 2012 when he again decided to change his life’s road and took the road of Social service and devoted himself to the cause if Ex Servicemen when he joined Indian Ex Servicemen Movement in 2010 and is currently an active member of the Pension Group that helps Veterans with their pension problems.
He has two well settled Children and his Wife Mrs Warsha is a special Educator in Pune since 1990. He and his wife are both closely associated with Sadhana Village (Near Pune) an Home for adult handicapped. They also run a small family based Foundation that helps the Handicapped.
